The goal was to acquire maximum daylight while avoiding direct sunrays and their resultant heat. This innovative approach not only provides ample natural light but also enhances the overall aesthetic of the building.

The building offers approximately 50,000 square meters of flexible, intricate yet practical office spaces, with the top 5,000 square meters serving as the company headquarters. The design showcases a postmodern silhouette and intriguing internal spaces, creating a unique and visually stunning tower.

Calibrated to the actual changing sun angles, the horizontal shades at the south and north elevations act like bridges between the vast east and west elevations, mimicking the company's international maritime role between the east and west of the globe. This design element not only adds visual interest but also provides functional benefits by protecting the glass walls from low sun angle penetration.

The realization of the Qatar Navigation Tower involved the use of advanced technology and meticulous planning. The column-free internal office spaces are designed to adopt any layout requirement, with high-speed interactive vertical transportation servicing the building. The uninterrupted, large, light, and open generic floor spaces are serviced by a double-sided center core, allowing for flexibility in office partitioning and daily performance methodology.

In terms of sustainability, the tower's enclosure is formed of lightweight, low-e highly performing glass. This not only controls solar and heat gain but also preserves dramatic views of the sea and the city.
